Hyrifa is run by its three Directors and eight office staff. As a client, you will always be looked after by one of the Directors, but you’ll get to know the whole team.
Glyn Hall BSc (Hons) Econ, ACII, Dip PFS – Director
Glyn graduated from the London School of Economics with a degree in Economics in 1972. After a short spell in the Civil Service, he joined Sun Life (now part of the AXA group) as a Broker Consultant. He left them in 1996 and went to work as an IFA for Remington Collins, quickly joining Mick Remington as a co director.
When Remington Collins was later sold to The Beckett Group, Glyn became a director of Beckett Financial Services Limited. As Beckett Financial Services grew, Glyn became increasingly unhappy with the direction in which it was going. He, along with colleagues Yogesh and Mick, missed the personal service that Remington Collins had offered, so he left in 2006 and formed Hyrifa with Yogi and Mick – offering financial services the way they believed they should be.
Glyn has additional qualifications allowing him to oversee and advise on pension transfers and long term care for the elderly.
Outside of work, Glyn is kept busy as the chairman and coach of his village junior football club. He also enjoys spending time with his family; he has four children and an increasing number of grandchildren. When he is able to he enjoys following his home town football club, Stoke City, with his sons and, when he gets chance, a relaxing round of golf.
Yogesh Yadev Cert PFS – Director
Yogi, a Ugandan Asian, came to England in 1970, settling in Loughborough with the rest of his extended family.
After leaving school, Yogi went to work for a local Independent Financial Advisor, where he first learnt the value of personal client service. In 1991 he moved to London to work for Scottish Widows, initially as an Administration Assistant, and eventually working his way up to be a Team Leader. Following major restructuring by Scottish Widows in 1996, Yogi saw the opportunity to take six months off, get married and spend some time travelling.
In 1997 he joined Lloyds TSB as a branch-based Financial Adviser, and in 1999 he became a Senior Consultant for Scottish Equitable. This job involved promoting Scottish Equitable to independent financial advisors, and it was here that he first met Glyn.
In 2002 Glyn employed Yogi at Beckett Financial Services, and his career came full circle back to working for an IFA as an IFA. Like Glyn he wanted to get to know clients and provide advice on a more personal and friendly level, so in 2006 he set up Trueway Finance with Mick, and they were later joined by Glyn to form Hyrifa.
Yogi has two young children who keep him as busy out of work as he is when he’s there! He enjoys travelling with his family, and also finds the time to play five-a –side football every week. Amongst his many other talents, Yogi brings a multilingual element to the company – he is fluent in Gujarati and understands Hindi – skills that benefit many clients.
Michael Remington ACII, CIP – Director
Michael was born in Leicester and educated at Wyggeston Grammar School and, after his 'O' Levels, he left to work for estate agents Frank Moore & Co. From there he moved to the Eagle Star, where he quickly gained promotion to Inspector and, in 1972, he joined local insurance brokers, Adams Heath & Co. as an Account Executive and later as an Associate Director. During this time, he became an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) by examination and later became a Chartered Insurance Practitioner (CIP).
In 1983, he co-established Remington Collins Limited, which gained a reputation for local friendly and professional advice in the field of general insurance broking and financial advice. In 1999, the business was bought by The Beckett Group and Michael became Managing Director of the Midlands Division. He left by mutual consent in 2002 to pursue other successful business interests.
In 2006, he was delighted to be able to support Glyn and Yogesh in their new venture. Although not authorised as an Independent Financial Advisor, Michael brings a wealth of business experience, acumen and professional contacts with him.
Out of work, Michael is married with two daughters. He enjoys all sports, especially golf, and has a keen interest in railways and trivia quizzes. Hyrifa won the prestigious Freeth Cartwright Challenge Cup in 2006 & 2008.
David Jones Cert PFS – Associate Director.
David obtained a degree in Political Sociology from Lancaster University in 2001. After this he joined Standard Life in London, where he gained his background experience in financial services and completed his qualifications, enabling him to later become an Independent Financial Adviser.
After two years with Standard Life as a broker consultant, David decided he wanted more direct client contact and set up his own company specialising in advice on business and personal protection. Following two successful years, he decided that he could offer greater value to clients by advising on a wider range of financial issues. With this in mind, he approached Beckett Financial Services in Leicester for a position as an Independent Financial Adviser where he met both Glyn and Yogi.
After three years gaining experience David felt he needed to offer clients a more personal service and joined Hyrifa to be part of an organisation really committed to their clients where long term relationships really matter.
David lives in Leicester and outside of work, enjoys travelling, cooking, socialising with friends and family as well as following his home town football club, Brighton and Hove Albion.
David Rowlson – Protection Adviser
David has worked in financial services for over 30 years and is able to bring a wealth of experience to the Hyrifa team. In addition to working for both Insurance Companies and Advisers in Derby, Nottingham and Leicester, David has the added benefit of working in senior management positions in other organisations.
This experience also brings a range of useful business and commercial contacts here in the East Midlands. David’s current role at Hyrifa is to advise on all types of protection plans for businesses, individuals and families and with his experience can identify other needs where other members of the Hyrifa team can help.
David was born in Derby and now lives there with his wife Susan. David’s interests include travelling, especially useful now that his children and grandchildren all live in either Australia or New Zealand! The theatre, walking, the National Trust and eating out with family and friends.
